Events in Kyparissi
Municipality of Monemvasia, the club of Kyfanta and the club of Kastaki organize every year many events during the year and attract many tourists.
Some of these are the festival of Virgin Mary on August 15, film screenings, theatre performances, music evenings and more.
The celebrations at Kyparissi have a different character, traditional and nostalgic.
Special Events Monemvasia ,Tiros, Leonidio…
A very good experience, if you are in Kyparissi, would be to attend at special events taking place in Monemvasia, Leonidio,Tiros and in other places on a day trip. Even better, before going to these events or after they finish you can come to Kyparissi for relaxing and vacation.

Churches and Monasteries
The main churches in Kyparissi are three. Each of them has great history and has been built by the local people.
Kyparissi has many paths, that leads to distant chapels. Every year, at the celebration day of these chapels, a small ceremony is taking place there.
Some of these celebration are the following:
- Babala on August 29
- Pilioura on July 31
- Harbor of Saint George on April 23 or monday after Easter
- Monastery of Evaggelistria
It is also important to mention that especially remarkable is the Monastery located between Richia and Gerakas and celebrates on March 25 and on August 31.The Evangelistria Monastery (Monastery of the Annunciation) is a convent situated on a promontory at Pyla, between Gerakas and Riechia. The view from the monastery of the surrounding Myrtoon Sea and the Argolid is truly magical.
2. Monastery of Agios Ioannis o Theologos
The chapel of Aghios Ioannis Theologos (the Theologian) is 2.5 kilometres north of Harakas on a small enclosed plateau. in the beggining the monastery was built in the 16th century and it was open until 1891 , that year was abandoned. In the July of 2020 the monastery opened again and one monk moved there again after 130 years.
The church is reached along a surfaced road leading from the centre of Harakas. Turn left at the signpost. The church is about 10 minutes away. There is plenty of parking space. No public transport is available.
- Museum of Richia
The folklor Museum of Richia was created in 1985 by the interest of George Belesis fromv Richia to preserve and promote the culture of Zarakas. The museum today belongs to the municipality of Monemvasia. It is open all year round and someone can visit it after contacting with Ms Panagiota Laggi at 0030 2732051121
- Port of Gerakas
Gerakas is 32 km from Kyparissi and 25 km from Monemvasia. The tranquillity of the surrounding landscape and the pretty seaside village create a perfect place to visit. There you can have lunch in the local taverns next to the lake of this rare greek fiord.
