Access

You can access Kyparissi mainly by car.

• Take the national way Athens – Corinth and follow the sings for Tripoli and then for Sparta. At the bridge of Evrotas (just before arriving in Sparta) turn on the left and follow the route Geraki- Agios Dimitrios- Kyparissi. The trip from Athens to Kyparissi takes 4hours.
• A second choice would be to come through Leonidio. Starting from Athens then Corinth- Argos- Astros -Tiros- Leonidio- Fokiana- Kyparissi. This trip takes 4hours an 30 minutes. After Fokiana remember to take the new road to Kyparissi that goes along the coast.

Another way to reach Kyparissi is by bus from Athens, Kifissos station untill Molaous and then you can continue to Kyparissi by a local taxi or bus. During the summer you will find also bus from leonidio station to Kyparissi.

A very convinient choice would be also to book a local taxi to take you from Athens. Its more expensive but is very comfortable.

Finally if you own a boat or yacht you can reach the port of Kyparissi, which is located about 30 nautical miles south of the island of Hydra and less than 70from the marinas of Attica.

For small groups it is very nice experience to hire a sea-taxi from Spetses or Ydra to visit Kyparissi.

Useful Information

Kyparissi belongs to the municipality of Monemvasia and is approximately 4 hours distance from Athens. It has approximately 300 permanent residens dealing with tourism, fishing and farming. It consists of three neighborhoods, Vrisi, Paralia and Mitropoli. At Kyparissi there are many nice tavernas, cafes and gift stores.

Its useful to remember that there are no gas stations, banks or ATMs at Kyparissi, the closest are in Molaous ( 50 kilometers) and in Monemvasia 65 (kilometers).
